The Summer Internship Program is a vital piece of BECU’s hiring philosophy and strategy. Interns are assigned a mentor in the department in which they will be working. The intern will work closely with their mentor throughout the duration of the internship. The opportunity is more than “sit back and observe”, our interns are integrated into daily duties of their respective departments, attend various meetings, and assist on departmental projects as assigned. This role is remote eligible from WA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn Fundamentals of Investment Industry and Department
  • Learn process of getting licensed in Investment Industry- possibility to start Security Industry Essentials test if interested.
  • Learn project process- research, gathering business requirements, engage with leadership, create project proposal
  • Project: Digital Investment Program- Creation of Project Proposal - Work with current Project Manager to evaluate our current solution (LPL), look at external benchmarks and gather business requirements. Understand what options are available in the industry, identify 2 alternatives available. Document recommendations, costs, timeline with recommendation for department to engage RFP for 2023.
  • Project: CRM Replacement- Create a Change Management Plan utilizing BECU Resources - Work with Project Manager and Leadership to replace current CRM. Assist in creating a Change Management plan including communication timing, trainings, etc. (use BECU Change Management resources to help), Present plan to leadership

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Business, Communications or Project Management degree preferred, others may be considered
  • Emphasis or Class/Work Experience: Business, Communications, Economics, Finance, Project Management, Statistic/Analytics preferred
  • Skills: Microsoft Products- Excel, PowerPoint preferred
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.7+ required
  • Proven leadership skills either on or off campus preferred
  • Community involvement/volunteerism preferred
  • Participation in extracurricular activities preferred
  • Able to commit to a 12-week program throughout summer
  • Comprehensive Excel skill preferred
  • Strong written communication skills preferred
