Intern (MBA) - Employee Experience - Program Manager (Summer 2022) - Opportunity for Working Remotely Atlanta, GA
Why will you enjoy this new opportunity?
Do you enjoy driving enterprise-wide change to address improvement opportunities and help enable teams to do meaningful work?
As a key player within the Modern Applications & Management Business Group (MA&M BG), you will play a critical role in VMware’s digital transformation. You will join the MA&M BG Employee Experience team which is responsible for conceptualizing and launching programs to increase team effectiveness, improve employee engagement, build an inclusive work environment, and build community within a distributed workforce.
As an Employee Experience Program Manager Intern, you will partner cross functionally to develop and implement programs that will help create a positive and compelling experience that enables employees to do their best work.
Our team is looking for a dynamic and experienced leader who can analyze, refine, and continue to build out MA&M BG’s best practices, processes, and infrastructure for information sharing, asynchronous working, and community building.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes you will work towards during the internship?
You are a creative thinker and excellent communicator with the ability to deliver high-impact results in a fast-paced, highly autonomous environment.
In your first three weeks, you will quickly come up to speed regarding MA&M BG’s organizational structure (e.g., Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Services and Operations teams), the ways in which teams currently collaborate and communicate, and the areas of opportunity.
By week four, you are taking the lead on framing and defining the scope of the project(s) you will work on.
You will then drive progress on your projects, working with teams across MA&M BG to identify opportunities, tools, processes, etc. for MA&M BG teams to pilot.
By the end of your internship, you will present your learnings and recommendations to the Strategy, Planning & Operations Leadership Team.
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis, and what skills will you grow?
As an intern on the Employee Experience team, you will have an opportunity to work on a high-visibility project that will impact the entire Business Group. While the exact scope of the project will be dictated by priorities when you join, potential activities include:
Analyzing employee feedback and survey data regarding a recent business unit merge to uncover strategic opportunities to build culture, community, and team identity.
Defining best practices and processes for information sharing and asynchronous working while reducing the need for live meetings.
Researching and recommending an approach for a scalable and virtual community building tool, initiative, or opportunity.
Key Qualifications and Requirements
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong project management capabilities, including the ability to balance multiple, high-urgency projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize commitments
Confidence working with large data sets (employee database, qualitative and quantitative survey data) and synthesizing data into executive summaries to create a compelling case for change
Experience defining and executing Change Management strategies
High level of executive presence and confidence interacting with and influencing senior leaders
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and foster strong business partnerships
High level of integrity with the maturity to handle confidential information
Highly organized, collaborative, and detail oriented
Proficient in Microsoft Office and G-Suite tools
MBA or MS HR Candidate
Additional Preferred Skills
Experience working in consulting, HR, program management, operations, or internal strategy
Experience in the enterprise technology industry
What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?
You will be reporting directly to the Director of MA&M BG Employee Experience. The team sits on the larger Strategy, Planning and Operations team that reports into the Senior Vice President and General Manager of MA&M BG.
This is a collaborative team focused on delivering incredible value for the organization and investing in the growth and development of every team member. We trust each other and enjoy getting to partner to solve complex problems every day.
