Job Summary/Overview:

The Intern, Operations Accounting reports to the Operations Accounting Manager, and is responsible for assisting with Operations Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Commissions. This individual will play a role in preparing the monthly financial close, processing accounts payables, and processing monthly commissions payments. Additionally, the individual will ensure timely and accurate compliance with SOX controls and will assist in various projects to ensure a broad experience of multiple accounting functions.

The internship is designed to create learning opportunities within a public corporation’s operations accounting area.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly journal entries.
  • Preparation of monthly reconciliations.
  • Prepare workpapers to support compliance with SOX.
  • Provide audit support as needed
  • Provide support for projects and initiatives, regarding process improvements toward scalability
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager’s discretion.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education: Junior or Senior p ursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics.

3.0 GPA

Experience:

  • Previous Accounting/Finance experience a plus
  • Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
