Tax Intern (Summer)

As an intern with TriNet’s Finance team you will be a part of a variety of engaging and exciting hands-on finance, accounting, and corporate tax tasks. You may be assigned to various teams within the TriNet Finance Department including:
- Internal Audit
- Financial Planning & Analysis
- Sarbanes Oxley Compliance
- Operations Accounting
- Tax Accounting
You will assist with documenting and supporting initiatives for process improvement and SOX compliance. We will engage you in performing analysis, preparing well documented work papers, and ensuring controls function as intended. We will also look to you for provide monthly reporting.
Completing a management designated capstone project and presenting the results to upper management will be part of the internship.

Essential duties/responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of tax accounting and compliance workbooks to meet internal timelines
- Support SOX compliance and audit request relating to assigned areas of the business
- Support preparation of special tax projects
- Support implementing process improvements as appropriate
- Assist and supports cross functional projects
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager’s discretion
- Present assigned projects to management
- Fully participate in a forward-thinking, professional environment which is customer centric, responsive, and fun
- Curiosity about learning developing new skills
Job requirements and qualifications
Education:
- Junior or senior undergraduate students with a declared major in accounting/finance/business/management or graduate students in Master of Accounting/master’s in taxation
- Minimum 3.0 academic performance in core business classes
Experience:
- Previous relevant internship/work experience preferred
- Academic leadership or extra-curricular activity involvement preferred
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with various levels of the organization.
- Ability to follow up on pending issues, take initiative and tackle problems
- Proficiency with MS Excel and Word
- Strong organizational and time prioritization skills!
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment!
WORK ENVIRONMENT/OTHER INFORMATION (Travel required, physical requirements, on-call schedules, etc.)
- Sitting for long periods of time is vital
- Work in clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting
This position may be performed remotely anywhere within the United States, except the role may not be performed in Colorado or Connecticut.
