About the role

In this role, you will be an Engineering Intern on one of our "product squads" where you will get exposure to a number of large-scale product initiatives and will assist in building key features, infrastructure and data that powers our platform. As an intern, you'll work with our engineers in small teams where you're given the freedom to own the software you create. At GlossGenius we hire, support and grow both generalists who want to work across the entire stack as well as masters going deep and setting standards in particular domains. Overall, you will have the opportunity to make an impact at a high growth company while receiving mentorship from seasoned engineers.

This role is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the US.

What you'll do

• Gain real world experience at a fast-paced, high growth startup;
• Operate within a team environment working closely with our senior and staff engineers as well as stakeholders
• You'll get paired up with mentors and have the opportunity to shadow our senior and staff level engineers
• Engage in conversations with stakeholders to think through everything from business impact, to reliability and operability, to security
• Write code that is easily testable, easily understood by other developers, and accounts for edge cases and errors
• Assist in building and launching new products in collaboration with the product team
• Uphold GlossGenius's high standards for engineering and product quality

What we're looking for

• You're enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program
• Previous internship experience preferred, although not required
• Familiarity with systems software and algorithms
• Strong computer science fundamentals that you can apply to learn a new language, framework or library quickly
• You thrive in a collaborative environment involving different functions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
• You're a continuous learner - learn and grow constantly to feed your passion for self-improvement and make those around you better
• You enjoy working on projects from ideation to completion
