We are recruiting for an Underwriting Intern in Phoenix, Arizona. This position supports the achievement of established goals related to profitable growth, customer service, and maintaining producer relationships of the Underwriting Service Branch (USB) within Private Not For Profit and Cyber/Professional towers within Financial Lines. This role is a part time in nature (up to 40 hours per week). The anticipated start date is in February 2022, and is apprioximately, 10-12 weeks in length.

Key functions include servicing of assigned book of commercial business and taking the account through various phases of the renewal cycle, including policy conversions. The Underwriting intern builds strong internal and external customer relationships to ensure a positive customer experience for USB renewals. The underwriting function is based on analysis of appropriate information, compliance with underwriting guidance, and implementation of an established renewal conversion strategies.

Desired Qualifications

Students pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in multiple majors will be considered.

Proven multi-tasking, prioritizing and time management skills.

Works effectively as part of a team; ability to balance team and individual goals.

Demonstrates flexibility by handling day-to-day frustrations / uncertainties.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Customer service and/or insurance experience a plus.

Gathering and analyzing information to determine risk acceptability.

Leadership experience through work or involvement in community service, athletics, clubs, or other activities preferred.

Technically adept / digitally savvy.

Training for the role will be provided. This is a remote based interview process and as our offices are mandatory work from home, is remote at this time.
