In DevOps, we focus on consistently delivering high-quality, stable products that enable our customers to realize the benefits of a lifestyle of accountability. We also work hard to ensure that our teammates in other departments have the tools, products, and platforms they need to best serve our customers.

Job Overview

This role will report to the Director of DevOps but will work closely with the guidance and supervision of an experienced, lead architect. Under guidance, you will help build and maintain our clouded infrastructure and development pipelines. The ideal candidate demonstrates a keen desire to learn and grow, exhibiting a servant's heart while also demonstrating an attitude of eager perseverance.

The candidate would also have at least an introductory level of knowledge and experience with clouded technologies, such as AWS and Azure, with an understanding of how to accelerate the delivery of quality software using CI/CD tools in a SaaS environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing, documenting, and maintaining a clouded infrastructure strategy with appropriate standards
  • Assist in designing, implementing, documenting, monitoring, and maintaining a reliable, scalable infrastructure (including databases) with multiple, sometimes ad-hoc, production, development, testing, and staging environments
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining an infrastructure that can be adapted to scale and change quickly
  • Assist in designing, implementing, documenting, monitoring, maintaining, and testing infrastructure backup plans and systems
  • Work with developers to help build and improve existing pipelines and infrastructure that promote automated, continuous integration and accelerates delivery of new products and services
  • Assist in implementing, documenting, monitoring, maintaining, and testing a secure network infrastructure using reasonable best practices in the cloud and at our local place of business
  • Assist in procuring, setting up, and maintaining employee devices, network connections, and permissions
  • Help negotiate and coordinate procurement and setup of products and services with vendors.
  • Assist in identifying, recommending, procuring, and installing appropriate products and services to implement approved infrastructure improvements and strategy
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned

Requirements

  • You’re an outstanding human. We get it, no one is perfect, yet you possess a strong moral character that loves our core values and affirms Accountable2You's mission and purpose.
  • You believe the struggle is real. You count bondage to pornography and other addictive behavior as serious matters. You’re committed to helping people in their journey toward life change.
  • Excellent, professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and the ability to work closely with others in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • 1-4 years of experience administering and maintaining infrastructure on a clouded platform (Azure, AWS, etc…)
  • Experience working with AWS and its managed products (IAM, EC2, ECS, ECR, SQS, RDS, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience designing and building an end-to-end cloud solution for high-performing websites, APIs, databases, and other technologies
  • Familiarity with and experience implementing server, database, networking, and security best practices
  • Experience or familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, or other containerization technologies.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) concepts and tools such as CloudFormation, AppVeyor, BitBucket Pipelines, Jenkins, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of/experience with Linux/Unix/Windows operating systems: command line, shell scripting, Powershell, permissions, authentication, security, etc.
  • Experience with using and configuring Cloudflare or similar technologies
  • Knowledge/experience with networking concepts: routing, firewalls, NAT, DNS, etc., especially in a clouded environment
  • Experience setting up and using monitoring, logging, and backup tools

When and where do you work?

This role works standard business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM). This role is locally based in Williamstown, Kentucky. Most of your working day will be spent working remotely, yet we meet regularly in-office for design meetings, interaction, and other team-building exercises.

We recognize the best talent might not live within a commuting distance to our office (ideally within 45 minutes). We offer a generous relocation package for candidates outside the local area. If you’re our top candidate, we’ll help you move here!

Does this sound like a good fit?

We hire the best fit, but there’s a lot more that goes into “best fit” than a laundry list of previous experience.

If you love our mission, values, and model the humble, hungry, smart ethos we aim for at A2U, we encourage you to apply - we’d love to hear from you! We respond to all applicants, so you'll definitely hear back from us.
