Position Description:
Serco’s Training and Experience Program (STEP) is designed to provide undergraduate university and college students paid accredited internship opportunities to gain meaningful, hands-on work experience in a professional environment. STEP emphasizes developing the workforce of the future. Our goal is to help you build a career roadmap that provides you with challenging and rewarding learning experiences with Serco.
In addition to gaining hands-on experience, you will attend training sessions taught by skilled leaders in our company which provides training to better prepare you for a full-time career. These training sessions range from finance, personality in the workplace, presentation skills, resume building, and more. In addition, we believe great ideas come from all levels of the company! Because of that, each year we challenge our interns to work in diverse teams to develop, propose and execute on a project that improves our ways of working. Throughout this project you will work with Senior Sponsors and meet with members of our Executive Team.
Position Description
As the Data Intelligence Intern, you will have the opportunity to develop your analytic and consulting skills in a real-world environment. During your internship, you will gain exposure to the multiple customers across Defense, Homeland Security, Health and Commercial industries.

Program Description
**This internship is offered in a hybrid format – working virtually as well as in person onsite at the Serco headquarters office in Herndon, VA. Serco follows all CDC state and local COVID-19 recommendations and ensures the safety of all on-site employees.**

Serco offers internship opportunities across the following three career tracks: Business, Technical, and Engineering. Our 2022 internship opportunities are available throughout the U.S. and Canada and begin on May 23rd and conclude on August 12th, with 1 week off July 4th – 8th. You will work with your manager to identify the best working schedule for you – working no more than an average of 36 hours a week with the added perk of half-days on Fridays.

Position Description
Serco’s Analytics and Technology group works with in our agile staffing model to provide advanced analytic and digital solutions. Our team rapidly delivers advanced data collection, modeling, analytic, and business intelligence applications to project teams and customers that improve the delivery of our professional services. We employ a combination of cultural lean/agile philosophies, practices, and tools that increases our ability to deliver analysis, applications, and business intelligence at high velocity: evolving and improving products at a faster pace than organizations using traditional processes.

Responsibilities
- Support the design of the analytic governance models, processes, and procedures.
- Identify, track, and analyze program performance metrics
- Support the development of high-level ROI/Business cases
- Apply advanced quantitative techniques to solve complex problems
- Develop, administer, and analyze surveys
- Identify, develop, and analyze measures and metrics
- Support project teams to develop executable analytic solutions
Requirements
- S. Citizen with the ability to attain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Preferred fields of study: Mathematics, Data Science, Physics, or related discipline.
- Ideal candidates are rising juniors, seniors, or Spring 2022 graduates.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including some experience with Excel.
- Experience using Business Intelligence applications (e.g., Power BI, Qlik).
- Academic experience data modeling and data analysis, data reconciliation and interface validation.
- Experience programing SQL, Python, R or Java.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong requirements gathering and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong work initiative and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating in a team environment.
- Passion for learning with a wide degree of creativity and curiosity.
