About the team

The SAP Ariba Platform Security Engineering Team is a fast-paced and agile team of engineers focusing on one of the most critical areas across all of Ariba: Security. In this post-Snowden era of security vulnerabilities, data exfiltration, and privacy, we are responsible for assuring that Ariba products have a first-class security posture. If you want to learn about one of the fastest growing and most challenging areas in the cloud industry, this is the team for you.


What you’ll do:

Position title: SAP Ariba iXp Intern – Java Developer
Location: Virtual or Palo Alto, CA or Boston, MA
Expected start date and end date: to end date: June – December, 2022


In this role, you’ll:

  • Learn about cloud security and production cloud architecture
  • Define and implement a new solution for test and qualification of future security enhancements and web-tier changes
    • Research and evaluate available tools (Open Source or Commercial)
    • Design and Implementation of a prototype
  • Development in the area of Encryption in Transit using JCE, OpenSSL, and similar cryptographic APIs
  • Development of new security shared services and APIs following cloud and microservice principals
  • Development in the area of Key Management


Who you are:

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.


Candidates to currently be enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s degree program in Computer Science or Information Security

  • Strong Programming Skills: Java Required, Perl a Plus
  • Experience with JAVA frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate)
  • Basic understanding of core security concepts: TLS, Encryption, Privacy
  • Candidate must be highly motivated, passionate, an independent thinker
