Jr. Copywriter
Golin Chicago (our headquarter office) is looking for Jr. Copywriter. Open to teams and individual candidates. The role has a simple job description: Come up with award-winning ideas that break the internet. Fun ideas. Provocative ideas. Totally off-the-wall ideas. Ideas that make every Creative Director at every other agency in the world want to recruit you away from us.
But you're not going to want to leave because you'll be working on an iconic QSR company that is synonymous with culture and the ability to be an influencer in and of themselves, so the possibilities are endless. As a creative, you won't just be making ads, you'll be making culture. Don't get us wrong, making ads is great, but moving culture and making headlines is even better. In fact, our approach has helped us win both Cannes Lions and back-to-back-to-back PRWeek Global Agency of the Year.
This role is dedicated to work on the always-on, real-time engagement workstream that ignites + fosters relationships with influential brand fans and engineers moments to drive cultural conversation and brand love. It is an engaging daily process that involves working closely with internal and external clients through all stages of the creative process, contributing to campaign ideas and strategies from brainstorming to conceptual development. This role is both a storyteller and conceptual powerhouse, able to create unique ideas and explore the multiple possibilities offered by social platforms.
You know how to work within a brand's voice and tone and adapt it to any social platform or moment. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, constantly creating ideas, editorial calendars, curating and producing content that drives engagement. You understand the social media landscape, including the way brands interact with influencers and other brands. You have a fresh perspective, ready to build new things, and the grit to work in an agile environment. Experience working with food brands is a plus.
Responsibilities
- High-level concepting, tactical program ideation, and copywriting for social media content that generates conversation and brand engagement.
- Own the brand story for our clients across all social platforms maintaining a consistent voice and vision.
- Understand target audience to develop compelling creative.
- Create branded content that is insightful, and culturally relevant.
- Successfully communicate (present and sell-in) creative ideas and the strategic rationale behind them.
- Collaborate with agency team members from creative, production, PR, strategy, planning and analytics to produce smart, powerful work.
- Proofread written work and online content.
- Juggle multiple assignments and work in an agile environment.
- Manage time and establish priorities while maintaining flexibility to respond to changing demands.
- Stay on top of trends through business/industry monitoring and outside resources.
What We're Looking For
- 1-2+ years' experience in advertising, social, or digital media. Knowledge of earned media is a plus.
- You understand every social media platform and speak the language of the internet.
- Art Director: You're a wizard in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator and have an understanding of visual storytelling.
- Writer: You're a wizard at using words to communicate emotion and inciting people to hit that share button.
- You're a genuinely nice person who brings energy every single day to your work and to the agency.
