**This will be a 12 week assignment with potential for extension, based on the worker's attendance, performance, and workload.**
**This role is 100% remote; supporting EST time zone.**
Job Summary: This person will be supporting Raymond James' Marketing team with regards to copy editing corporate marketing materials for all Raymond James' business units.
Process Flow: A writer or designer will upload the initial draft (Word doc or PDF) into the team’s workflow system, which will first be reviewed by compliance using tracked changes. Compliance passes marked-up document to the Jr. Copyeditor for “proofing” aka editing (see definition above). Once the Jr. Copyeditor has finished their edits, they will then re-upload the edited copy which will then get sent back to the original writer or designer to make the combined changes.
Job Duties:
  • Proofreads and/or copyedits marketing materials for continuity, punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, spelling, typographical errors, and adherence to corporate style and brand.
  • Maintains current on trends in business writing (from general mechanics to industry jargon) via AP Stylebook and financial/industry sources.
  • Ensures implementation of brand elements/observance of style through the materials the department creates for financial advisors and internal business units.
  • Serves as final quality control check before job goes to production or posts live to website following the process above (e.g., compliance review first, then proofing).
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Work Schedule:
  • 8:30am-5:30pm EST, Monday through Friday

Must Haves
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing OR Writing OR Journalism OR English OR related field
  • 1-2 years of business writing / copyediting or related experience. Experience must be recent (within the last year). If the candidate has any samples of their work, please include a link or attach to the resume when submitting in Wand.
  • Proficient in PDF mark-up, MS Word (tracking changes / adding comments, etc.), MS Outlook
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills – candidates may be required to complete a writing/editing assessment as part of the interview process
  • Professional demeanor
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive within a fast-pace environment. This person will be expected to complete between 30-50 jobs per day once they are up and running.
  • Ability to remain focused / stay on task
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines; excellent time management skills


Additional Skills
  • Experience within the financial services industry is a plus but not required
