Intern, Software Engineer, Augmented Reality
Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking a highly motivated software engineer intern who will utilize augmented reality (AR), web technologies and our cloud solutions to help visualize data using handheld devices. As an intern, you will work as part of a highly visible agile team focused on building the next generation cloud enabled civil engineering solutions. The ideal candidate for this position will be passionate about building high performant, complex mobile and web applications and acquiring new skills and knowledge throughout the course of internship.
Responsibilities
- Develop prototypes to visualize data using augmented reality capabilities in smartphones and tablets
- Conduct research and make recommendations on tools, services, and standards to use for engineering efforts
- Document and present your ideas and solutions accurately and thoroughly
- Enthusiasm to share knowledge, learn from others and actively engage in various agile team meetings
Minimum Qualifications
- Full-time student pursuing a master’s degree in computer science or related field in the United States with at least one academic term to complete post internship
- Experience developing AR applications using Unity or Unreal game engines
- Experience using plugins and SDKs with game engines to achieve a desired functionality
- Understanding of 3D computer graphics concepts
- Experience with web technologies - HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience building web applications using REST APIs
- Understanding of typical web application architecture (data, application, web tiers etc.) and knowledge of Amazon Web Services or other cloud infrastructure technologies
- Self-motivated, autonomous, with strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with C++ or C#
- Experience using ARKit or ARCore technologies to build augmented reality applications
- Research or development experience in augmented or virtual reality
- Knowledge of computer graphics including experience with OpenGL, WebGL or DirectX
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment
About the US Intern Program
The U.S. program runs from May through August for 12 weeks and will be remote (subject to change). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, work alongside peers from universities all over the country and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. US recruiting begins in the Fall and concludes end of March.
