Northrop Grumman is seeking an International Trade Compliance Import Specialist/Intern to join the Corporate Global Supply Chain Intern Program. This position will be located hybrid virtually and in Falls Church, Virginia.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Global Supply Chain Global Import Management team. The candidate will work in a fast paced, multiple commodity transactional procurement environment where he/she will interact with colleagues, suppliers, and internal customers.

As an intern, you’ll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety of International Trade Compliance and Supply Chain functions that may include:

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform data analytics and review trade data including but not limited to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and US Census to identify areas of risk.
  • Support content development for import compliance training and conferences for the Northrop Grumman import community, including communicating regulatory changes regarding imports.
  • Assist in conducting enterprise international trade and import assessments.
  • Maintain content on Global Import Management websites.
  • Update Command Media forms and procedures.
  • Support Customs Broker management and Express Courier management. Participate in contracted broker quarterly business reviews and SOP.
  • May become engaged to a certain extent on enterprise global supply chain initiatives such as implementation of International Trade Compliance solutions.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Ba majoring in or having majored in the fields of International Business or Supply Chain Management
  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2022.
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) if required
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
  • Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
  • Good presentation and writing/communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment.
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations and leading small groups.
  • Experience in working in an autonomous work environment on complex projects.
  • Experience in working on business or supply chain full life-cycle projects from project inception through launch.
  • Supply Chain or International Business Experience

Intern Pay Range:

Bachelor’s: $15.75 to $31.25 per hour

Master’s: $24.75 to $40.0 per hour

At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.




Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
