The AI Scientist Intern will join IQVIA’s Research and Development Solution’s Emerging Technologies team with focus on progressing next generation human health solutions. This internship provides opportunity and access to industry solutions and both AI and customer-centric innovative technologies.

You will shape your outcomes and experiential learning, interact across the organization, promote, and evangelize topics through presentations, centers of excellence, and personalized discussions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Shadow IQVIA AI Scientists and learn about their day-to-day responsibilities; Develop a working knowledge of clinical trials and the industry
• Collaborate on approach and implementation of AI-focused research, tools, methodologies (e.g., Machine Learning, Natural Language Generation, Neural Networking, Deep Learning, etc.)
• Develop and apply differentiated solutions in support of clinical trials and patient heath
• Research technology options that advance AI and recommend approaches for solutions and outcomes; Evaluate efficiency, scalability, and stability of various improvements
• Document functional requirements through discussions with key stakeholders; Create user flows and capability maps to describe the application that is being prototyped
• Develop a functioning prototype of the application using the selected technology choices; Create functioning prototypes, applied to use cases, using the selected technology choice(s)
• Present results of research and development, prototypes, and/or product modifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The AI Intern candidate should be:

• Familiar with Object Oriented Programming skills (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, etc.)
• Intellectually adaptive, inquisitive, good at expressing their needs, and self-managed
• Experienced with model creation and/or deployment, and developing and/or maintaining code bases
• Exposed to statistical modeling, machine learning best practices, etc.

The AI Intern candidate should demonstrate:

• Ability to learn new concepts and skills, and transfer business requirements into AI opportunities
• Understanding of database technology concepts and technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL etc.)
• Strong research and innovation skills and ability to solve difficult AI problems
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic and visible
• Basic awareness of industry and technology that the intern will be working on

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Pursuing Bachelor, Master, Doctoral in Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other qualitative discipline with specialization and experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Cognitive Science, Deep Learning, or related fields.

DESIRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Passionate about AI and ability to demonstrate skills utilizing open-source capabilities
• Eagerness to disrupt and innovate the clinical trials industry and drive positive patient outcomes
