JOB SUMMARY:
As the Data Science Intern you are a change agent and will help driving data driven decision making. You see ‘ambiguity’ as an opportunity rather than a hurdle and thrive on challenging yourself to push beyond conventional thinking. You have a high level of responsibility for understanding, analyzing and turning data into information across TriNet. You will bridge the gap for a team of technical specialists, which may consist of Technical and Business partners. This ‘hands on’ role will work with management and multi-functional peers in the delivery and engagement of small size analysis projects to long-range projects.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work closely with business and technical teams to analyze and understand the best solution design and approach as a hands-on analyst or PM

• Make solution recommendations that align to short- and/or long-term strategic plans and roadmaps
• Design solution alternatives and employ data-based recommendations to influence decision makers and ensure business outcomes will be achieved
  • Research, analyze, present results, and recommend intelligent solutions to solve problems and address business challenges by applying a knowledge of data analysis, critical-thinking skills, and healthcare experience/expertise

• Structure analytical results in an organized, visual manner to tell a meaningful story


• Provide hands-on issue resolution alternatives leads assigned deliverables projects .

• Perform data scrubbing, trouble-shooting, quality checking, and usability analysis to identify anomalies, which need to be addressed prior to delivery of analytic results
  • Collaborate with technology and business partners, providing functional and/or project management expertise in their assigned domain
• Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering solutions or project plans that optimizes project activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities
  • Develop, implement and revise detailed analysis
  • Utilize your experience in analytics tools to produce useful insights

• Collaborate with business leaders and decision makers to develop success criteria and optimize new products, features, policies, and models
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager’s discretion.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Graduating with an undergraduate or graduate degree in December 2022 or May/June 2023, with preferred majors in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or other related field

• Minimum 3.0 GPA in core major classes

Experience:

• Previous relevant internship/work experience desired
  • Academic leadership or extra-curricular activity involvement preferred

• Hands-on experience with data analysis, solution design, and/or project management preferred

Technical Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Beginner to intermediate knowledge of some of the following (not all required):

• Experience in predictive modeling, data science, and analysis

• Experience with ML models including but not limited to Regression, Random Forests, XGBoost

• Experience in an ML engineering or data scientist role building and deploying ML models or hands on experience developing deep learning models
• Experience writing code in Python and SQL with documentation for reproducibility

• Strong Proficiency in Tableau

• Experience handling big datasets, diving into data to discover hidden patterns, using data visualization tools, writing SQL

• Experience writing and speaking about technical concepts to business, technical, and lay audiences and giving data-driven presentations

• Agile (Scrum) project methodologies and development practices, particularly sprint planning and assessment, and test-driven development and continuous integration

• Integration and ETL technologies (e.g. Mulesoft, Pervasive, Informatica, Jitterbit, ESB, etc.),

• Experience using Salesforce data tools (e.g., Data Loader, DemandTools, Eclipse Force.com IDE).

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to learn quickly and understand basic business concepts

• Experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints strongly desired.

  • Strong analytical and/or project management skills with attention to detail

• Problem solver with intellectual curiosity to surface insights & implications and use this knowledge to think creatively about solutions

• Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills: works well in a team environment where team members may be distributed (not co-located)

• Ability to manage multiple, concurrent work streams and tasks
