The Global Music marketing team plays a critical role in defining and driving Spotify’s promotional strategy around new and existing content, focused on the holistic music & cultural experience. Whether partnering with SilkSonic on their debut album or promoting the largest Latin playlist in the world (Viva Latino), we position and promote artists and content to strategic audiences building brand love.
We’re looking for a strategic and creative intern with a firm finger on the pulse of youth culture (including music genres and artists, content across social media platforms), and deep knowledge about what drives engagement with younger audiences. You are a passionate student of music, marketing, and culture and enjoy working with cross-functional teams, shaping brand narratives, and strategically developing plans built upon rich insights.
What you'll do
- Own a specific music marketing project that sets the strategic direction and action plan to address a priority genre and/or audience through a robust marketing strategy
- Support the Music Marketing team in setting the strategy for key genres and/or audiences, laddering up to engagement, consumption, and consumer acquisition goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including Music, Brand & Creative, Social, Media, Content Promotion, Comms, and Insights to bring content initiatives to life
- Support development of a current campaign for an artist or content brand in partnership with the current Marketing Manager on the project
- Share and present developed marketing strategies and projects to peers and senior stakeholders in the business to garner buy-in and support of recommendations
Who you are
- You are an MBA Candidate set to graduate in 2023
- You have marketing experience with a lifestyle, content or CPG brand, digital publisher, agency, or content business unit
- Have experience within roles that were consumer marketing or related experiences in marketing strategy, marketing, media planning, marketing implementation, digital/social marketing, and event execution
- Possess strong project management skills and have experience leading complex, collaborative projects with multiple collaborators
- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-energy environment and are comfortable with occasional ambiguity and a phenomenal teammate willing to pitch in whenever needed
- Highly organized, diligent, and have the ability to work under pressure with imminent deadlines and can prioritize tasks in real-time
- Creative, innovative, and constantly ideating on how to uniquely bring marketing campaigns to life
- Possess excellent communication and writing skills
- A daring, diligent, and fast learner who is eager to grow and make valuable contributions to Spotify
- Proficient at using Google Drive, Slides/Powerpoint/Keynote, Excel, Word
- You are comfortable working remotely
