Junior Asset Manager

THE CHALLENGE

Manage the day-to-day and long-term commercial aspects of a portfolio of 25 solar energy facilities located in California, Colorado, Utah, Indiana, Tennessee, Georgia and Connecticut to ensure optimal project financial performance and maintain high asset values.

  • Support Asset Management (“AM”) team in maximizing project financial performance by managing risks, and seeking, evaluating, and executing opportunities to improve project cash flow.
  • Support AM team in maintaining compliance or ensuring payment relating to financing, real estate, property tax, permit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the AM team in negotiations with project vendors and service suppliers to reduce OpEx and/or improve services.
  • Work with the Operations team to understand and help resolve operational issues that affect financial performance
  • Interface with lenders and tax equity partners relating to consents or other matters
  • Support AM team in renewing insurance policies and managing claims
  • Support AM team with local stakeholder engagement and public relations programs, including landowners and local officials.
  • Support AM team with internal or external reporting responsibilities including the preparation of powerpoint or excel materials among others
  • Coordinate with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to ensure timely preparation of project budgets and reforecasts, and monthly operating reports with accurate explanations of variances to budget.
  • Coordinate with the Accounting and Treasury teams to ensure project invoices and other payments are properly approved and processed in a timely manner
  • Support M&A team on due diligence relating to project acquisition opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

THE PROFILE TO SUCCEED

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or Finance preferred. Experience may substitute for degree.

  • Five (5) years’ experience in energy market asset management, renewable power (wind, solar) experience strongly preferred.
  • Good understanding of project financing, operating, and real estate contractual arrangements.
  • Experience in managing portfolios of energy assets, developing productive partnerships, and staying attuned to industry trends and developments.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Keen multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills; attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position functions in a smoke and vaping free professional office environment. The role routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as laptop computer, phone, and scanner/photocopier.
