About the team

Developing software at SAP is more than just writing efficient code - it’s a team effort: starting at product definition and design, including coding, testing, quality assurance, documenting the results and support our customers. We follow agile software engineering methods and are always in close contact with our customers and stakeholders to acquire early feedback. A software developer also needs to understand the business processes related to software he or she works upon.


What you’ll do:

Position title: SAP Ariba iXp Intern – Software Developer
Location: Virtual, US based
Expected start date and end date: June 2022 – August 2022


In this role, you’ll:

This intern position is currently open for the best-in-class cloud-based Business to Business e-commerce product. You will be working on SAP Ariba Sourcing and/or Supplier Lifecycle & Performance products. The engineer will be responsible for end-to-end feature development from requirements, design, and development of software components across global deployments at scale. The primary areas of technology this team works on are Java, Web, REST, Micro services, Angular JS, Spring and GitHub.

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.


Required skills and education:

  • Students must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s level degree program in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3 months of application development or related experience is preferred.
  • Good understanding for object-oriented programming and experience in data structures and algorithms is required.
  • Familiarity in backend development using technologies like Java, REST, Spring Boot and Hibernate is preferred.
  • Familiarity RDBMS and SQL is required.
  • Familiarity with GitHub or any other Version Control is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Build tools like Maven/ANT/Gradle is preferred.
  • Familiarity in web technologies like Angular/JavaScript, HTML/CSS is required.
  • Ability to quickly learn existing codebase and be able to make significant code and design changes is required.
  • Should be a self-starter and be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English is required
