Avantus is looking for a strong candidate to join a program management office supporting a dynamic client within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This business analyst would be a key role in facilitating work force Management is part of Mission Support office and is responsible for supporting the human resource requirements to manage an agency’s more than 10,000 authorized positions. This includes development of hiring and deployment plans in compliance with available funding and congressional intent; recruitment programs; staffing operations and position management; promotional assessment programs; and succession planning and program management.
Responsibilities:
- Keep all systems up to date
- Research and facilitate monthly meetings for respective offices
- Process recruitment and reassignment requests
- Create and route Retirement Letters and Certificates
- Creation of Job Announcements
- Facilitate communications between HR and offices
- Be able to efficiently communicate orally and in writing
- Develop and implement effective time management strategies
- Analytical ability to research, interpret, and evaluate information
- Be able to provide exceptional customer service and build relationships with the client
- Advise teaming partners on best practices, SOPs, and lessons learned to help ensure the high quality of work is maintained across the division and all the client’s and mission’s needs are addressed in a timely manner
- Lead efforts to implement and track progress of all employee movement in assigned offices
- Serve as the point of contact for any client who needs assistance in staffing procedures
- Knowledge in: SharePoint repository to collect, file, and share project documents, and Microsoft Office Tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
1 or more years of professional environment- Proficient skill and experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
- The status of applicable COVID-19 vaccination requirements under Executive Order 14042 are subject to change depending on applicable court orders and the course of ongoing litigation. Candidates may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved exemption
