Human Resource Intern
Scope of Position
We are seeking a highly motivated student to join our Centric’s HR Department. The paid internship is designed to jump start your career, offering on-the-job and supplemental training in addition to mentorship.
The ideal candidate will be a second to fourth year college student, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. This position will be involved in daily HR activities and have the ability to work effectively with people across all levels of the organization. If you have the ability to keep impeccable records, with a strong attention to detail, we would like to meet you. We are looking for a self starter who is interested in the Human Resource field.
This position is in Campbell, California, but in this environment may be a work from home position.
What you will learn: We hope to create an environment for you to thrive as you will be part of the HR team. This position will work on projects that will add significant value to Centric’s business. You will collaborate with leadership, managers, and cross functional teams. At the conclusion of your internship program, you will create a presentation of your accomplished work to the VP of Finance and the G&A team.
Responsibilities
- Pro-actively manages HRIS system to maintain high integrity of employee data
- Maintains employee and vendor files
- Process forms relating to new hire, status changes, terminations, etc.
- Assist with administration of employee Benefit plans and assist with benefit issues
- Coordinate trainings, meetings, and HR events
- Assist with on-boarding new employees
- Conducts research and analyzes data on assigned projects
- Ensure workplace policies are current and in compliance with state and federal laws
- Serve as contact for employees with HR questions and issues
Education, Skills and Experience
- Second to fourth year college focus on Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of employment laws, both federal and state, a plus
- Strong organizational and customer service skills with professional acumen
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Resourceful, well organized, able to work effectively with people
- Flexibility to work within constantly changing priorities, with enthusiasm and patience
- Ability to take initiative, multi task, manage details and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful
- Good reasoning abilities. Sound judgment. High integrity
- Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills essential (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
