Position Overview
Ever wanted to help build the tools that designers use to envision a better world? Autodesk’s platform team designs the experiences, API’s and services that our customers and developers use to extend the capabilities of Autodesk’s design and make software. The platform helps other companies bring businesses to life to solve important workflow challenges and bring new possibilities to life based on our 3D modeling, visualization, and data insight software by contributing new applications, content, and plugins to our ecosystem. You will collaborate with other designers and teams who are passionate about bringing better experiences to the fields of architecture, construction, manufacturing and film and visual effects.
The Experience Visualization intern will help explore and create next generation of 3D design and data visualization experiences. The design intern will create technically feasible refined designs that will help our customers leverage insights for better decision making. The intern will work on forward-thinking and innovative designs, from concept to working prototypes. We are looking for an intern who has a good understanding of current creative trends who can deliver both, visual storytelling assets and designs that will inspire and inform innovation of our Forge Viewer among other visual experiences.
The ideal candidate is passionate about prototyping, testing, and analyzing data, to help the team stitch the market opportunities, user behaviors and needs together.
Responsibilities
Create holistic design prototypes that address business, existing & future systems, and user requirements
Prototype innovative solutions to rapidly test and iterate prototypes
Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale and the specifics of user- centered design process
Influence UX strategy and share user-informed perspectives
Research and analyze current and future UX technology patterns and design trends, including market research and competitive analysis
Create artifacts, such as information architecture diagrams, conceptual diagrams, task flows, wireframes, prototypes, and screen flows
Manage time, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines with little supervision

Minimum Qualifications
You must be at least 18 years of age
You must be actively enrolled in a degree granting academic institution or accredited boot camp at the time of internship
You must reside and be attending university in the country where the internship is being offered
You are comfortable to doing both design and research
You are comfortable with early product development and service design
You’re not afraid to express your ideas, or change your mind when someone has a better one
You have a solid understanding of user-centered design principles
You have the ability to present cohesive design approaches to a non-design audience
You grasp multiple system requirements with careful attention to detail
You are enrolled I a graduate program related to HCI, UX/UI or similar field
About the US Intern Program
The U.S. program runs from May through August for 12 weeks and will be remote (subject to change). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, work alongside peers from universities all over the country and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. US recruiting begins in the Fall and concludes end of March.
