Job summary/overview

We are looking for a smart, enthusiastic individual who has creative ideas and is ready to dive in to help define and discover new product opportunities within the PEO market. The intern will work under the supervision of a Product Manager leader to collaborate with product management, engineering, QA, marketing and services professionals. The role and responsibilities will reflect tasks and activities that are part of a normal product development lifecycle from a product management perspective.

Essential duties/responsibilities

  • Define and develop product and GTM opportunities, conduct market research and generate product requirements/features, product improvements, usability enhancements, and manage roadmaps.
  • Identify and document product and business requirements from concept to production.
  • Assist with product design for new features and enhancements, evaluate new opportunities and create new proposals aligned with business strategy and present insight to key executives.
  • Analyze and develop differentiation against key competitors.
  • Perform competitive data analyses and present for insight.
  • Completes ad-hoc assignments to assist in the development of the roadmap, market, competitive and customer analysis.

Job requirements and qualifications

Education:

  • Senior undergraduate or graduate students with a declared major in business, computer science or related degree
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA in core major classes

Experience:

  • Classroom experience and knowledge of product development processes and lifecycle (agile preferred)
  • Previous relevant internship/work experience preferred
  • Academic leadership or extra-curricular activity involvement preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to adapt to software development tools used to define requirements, enter break-fix tickets and utilize QA testing tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-starting and independent work skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with business management
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
