DX Web or Mobile Developer Intern- Summer 2022
The Opportunity

This position is fully remote, starting at the end of May 2022.
The Team
The Digital Experience team, part of MassMutual’s Enterprise Technology & Experience organization, is comprised of collaborative, cross-functional, product centric groups who like to have fun, challenge each other, and create innovative solutions that solve for the changing needs of our customers. We design, build, and support all of MassMutual’s customer-facing digital assets. The Impact:
As a Web or Mobile Developer intern in this program, you will be team-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be skilled in modern web and mobile application development. You’ll build applications that include unit testing and code quality. You will keep current with the latest JavaScript, Swift, and Kotlin language features and learn how to deliver solid applications into production environments. You will take a collaborative approach to working with others and enjoy flexibility within the role while working in our Digital Experiences organization.
Objectives of this role:
- Drive toward the effective utilization of the latest technologies, partnering with business stakeholders across the team, as well as experts in other areas including data science to achieve goals
- Learn and master new and emerging technologies and take initiative to offer technical direction and creative solutions
- Build applications that provide best-in-class support for multiple browsers and mobile devices
- Build applications that are used by our many customers
Responsibilities:
- Engage in a collaborative environment with agile squads across the organization to develop highly interactive digital experiences on exciting technology directives.
- Develop complex applications
- Perform related duties as assigned or requested
The Minimum Qualifications
- Current Junior enrolled in a related computer science four-year Bachelor degree program
- Demonstrated experience with one of the following languages: Swift, Java, Kotlin or JavaScript
- Knowledge of building single-page applications or progressive web applications or building applications in one of: React, Vue, Angular
- Exposure to mobile / web application development including an understanding of how to develop reusable frameworks, modules, and solutions
- Exposure to latest architectural styles like micro-services and APIs
- Git exposure: workflow steps, including branching, merging, rebasing, pull requests; working knowledge of reversion and alternative git flows
- Understanding of working in an Agile development environment
- Ability to actively learn and prototype
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship, both now and in the future
The Ideal Qualifications
- Basic understanding of application deployment process
- Experience with REST APIs
- Experience using Mobile/Web Framework
