Ever wanted to help build the tools that designers use to envision a better world? Autodesk’s platform team designs the experiences, API’s and services that our customers and developers use to extend the capabilities of Autodesk’s design and make software. The platform helps other companies bring businesses to life to solve important workflow challenges and bring new possibilities to life based on our 3D modeling, visualization, and data insight software by contributing new applications, content, and plugins to our ecosystem. You will collaborate with other designers and teams who are passionate about bringing better experiences to the fields of architecture, construction, manufacturing and film and visual effects.
The strategic technologies experience architecture team is looking for a service experience design intern to help us develop the next generation of a developer experience for API first and ecosystem. We are looking for a service designer who can play the role of part futurist, design strategist and part hands-on pragmatist designer. The intern will be responsible for assisting in translating user needs and system requirements into experience flows, systems documentation , and prototypes for visualizing a future state of a unified platform experience. The intern will work on both, the ability to uncover key user insights and the communication skills to turn those insights into actionable, relevant ideas for system design, information architecture diagrams, systems documentation, and prototypes for integrating solutions into a one unified platform and ecosystem experience.

Responsibilities
Create holistic design prototypes that address business, existing & future systems and user requirements
Drive deeper understanding of our external developer needs
Help set the standards that will make Autodesk a platform company that can attract and sustain creative developers and creators that build on the platform
Create artifacts, such as information architecture diagrams, conceptual diagrams, task flows, wireframes, prototypes, and screen flows
Create holistic design prototypes that address business, existing & future systems, and user requirements
Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale and the specifics of user- centered design process
Influence UX strategy and share user-informed perspectives
Research and analyze current and future UX technology patterns and design trends, including market research and competitive analysis
Manage time, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines with little supervision
Minimum Qualifications
You must be at least 18 years of age
You must be actively enrolled in a degree granting academic institution or accredited boot camp at the time of internship
You must reside and be attending university in the country where the internship is being offered
You are comfortable to doing both design and research
You are comfortable with early product development and service design
You’re not afraid to express your ideas, or change your mind when someone has a better one
You have a solid understanding of user-centered design principles
You have the ability to present cohesive design approaches to a non-design audience
You grasp multiple system requirements with careful attention to detail
You are enrolled in a graduate program related to HCI, UX/UI or similar field
About the US Intern Program
The U.S. program runs from May through August for 12 weeks and will be remote (subject to change). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, work alongside peers from universities all over the country and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. US recruiting begins in the Fall and concludes end of March.
