Intern, Network and Communications Security
Position Overview
As an intern within the Autodesk Infrastructure Security organization, you will work within the Network and Communications team to learn Network Security best practices and work on designing and automating Network Security reviews including the firewall change management process end to end.
Responsibilities
Review firewall policies and work with internal stakeholders to assess risk to allow certain network connections
Develop automations to audit firewall policies for misconfigurations, overly permissive policies and duplicate policies
Develop automations to automate the firewall change management process end to end
Review configurations, policies or signatures on all network devices
Monitor for threats and malicious activity targeting Autodesk Infrastructure and Networks. Develop automations to report these findings in real time and in an automated fashion
Work closely with other Network Security Engineers to ensure Network Security best practices are adhered to across different parts of the Autodesk Network
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree (M.S.) in cybersecurity, computer science, applied information technology, or related field
Coursework in (some or all) the following: Cyber Security, Networking, Network Security, Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, Data Structure and Algorithms
Familiarity with common security vulnerabilities and the ability to analyze risk, severity, and impact
Basic understanding of Firewalls, Routing, TCP/IP, VPN , IDS/IPS, SSL, IPSec tunnels and other network security technologies
Knowledge in one or more of the programming languages: C, C++, Java, or Go programming
Knowledge in Python, Perl, shell, or other scripting languages
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding/working knowledge of the public cloud infrastructure and services in AWS/Azure
Hands on experience building automation pipelines end to end
Hands on experience with Firewall technologies such as Juniper, Fortigate firewalls
Hands on experience with SASE technologies
Familiarity with packet capture, NetFlow tools, Web Application firewalls, Real-Time Application Protection systems, log management, and SIEM
Knowledge and experience with network, host and application security practices
Knowledge and experience with security technologies including host and network-based protection and detection technologies
About the US Intern Program
The U.S. program runs from May through August for 12 weeks and will be remote (subject to change). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, work alongside peers from universities all over the country and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. US recruiting begins in the Fall and concludes end of March.
