COVID Vaccination Requirement for Candidates Seeking Employment: Carbon Health, as both a healthcare provider and a federal contractor, is subject to certain laws, regulations and orders requiring its workforce to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and its variants. Our Carbon Health Internships are designed to introduce students to Carbon Health’s culture and business. As an intern, you will receive hands-on experience and be part of a team that is disrupting the future of healthcare. Throughout the 10-12 week program, you will work on innovative projects and assignments. Additionally, our internship experience goes far beyond your assigned job with potential clinic visits, community involvement, exposure to Carbon Health executives, team-building socials, and other networking events to further your development. Our engineering team provides the Carbon Health modern tech-enabled health care platform that combines technology with inviting healthcare clinics designed from the ground up putting patient care first.
The Machine Learning team’s mission is to make our products – both client-facing and internal – more efficient, intelligent, and delightful to use by leveraging the latest modeling techniques on top of a modern ML tech stack.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Potential projects include designing, implementing, and integrating an A/B testing framework for ML models into the broader ML platform
- Gain exposure shipping features in production involving both client and server while adhering to best practices such as integration testing and monitoring/alerting
- Grow your experience and knowledge of programs such as Python, SQL, AWS
ABOUT YOU
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, or related field
- Self-motivated, passionate about the healthcare space, team player with strong communication skills
- You align with the Carbon Health vision and core values; you assume Karma exists, you respect the craft and wisdom of others in the organization. You put yourself in a position of insight, you genuinely care, and are excited to partner with different teams who do also!
- Experience with ML libraries (such as scikit-learn), development tools (such as Jupyter Notebook), or distributed computing engines (such as Spark) is a plus
- Previous participation in ML-related projects and/or competitions preferred, such as Kaggle, online courses, or side projects
