ISHINE Talent Acquisition (TA)/Talent Team & Culture (TT&C) Social Media Intern

Ironwood’s ISHINE Program is designed to provide those attending historically Black colleges and universities (HBCU’s) with hands-on and meaningful experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. This year, this paid internship will have students working on projects under the tutelage of a preceptor/mentor. Throughout the summer, interns also will participate in group activities that enable and encourage interaction with other interns and Ironwoodians beyond their own assigned departments. At the end of the program, interns will have the opportunity to present their work to the larger Ironwood community. Ironwood has a hybrid work environment, welcoming both in-office and remote work. All interns will have an opportunity to participate in activities in our Boston headquarters (COVID dependent), the expenses for which will be paid for by Ironwood.


As part of the TT&C (HR) team, the intern will get the opportunity to work on projects relating to social media to

  • promote the Ironwood employer brand
  • increase outreach efforts to diverse communities of professionals
  • help develop strong pipelines for Ironwood recruiting, especially in diverse communities.

This person will need to work in a cross functional manner with many parts of the Ironwood organization, especially Corporate Communications and Compliance.

The intern will

  • work with Corporate Communications and our ad agency to develop a calendar for social media posts for Talent Acquisition and some our EDI related outreach programs
  • mine the Ironwood ATS and CRM tools to tag and identify diverse and different functional talent 9(i.e., GPS, clinical, accounting)
  • work on outreach programs to identify new recruiting related social media targets and professional networks for key Ironwood positions
  • Provide insights to different professional associations and universities that have diverse populations or areas of specialty of interest to Ironwood
  • develop library of posts, photos and other media used across Ironwood that can be used for Talent Acquisition outreach
  • develop calendar of correspondence for candidates in our pipelines

This position is ideally designed for a rising junior or senior in marketing, communications, IT or HR with strong understanding of social media, strong writing skills, and good computer skills.

This person must be able to work as part of a team and be able to work independently, take initiative and be accountable for their work product. This intern must be able to meet deadlines and have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, (written, media, social based on multiple segments of our target audience: diverse candidates, by functional area, prospects, etc.

The outcome of this project is a library of resource materials, posts and media and calendar for outreach to different populations of interest to Ironwood.
