Technical Intern (Sophomore, Junior or Senior)

Summary
This position will focus on building strong partnerships and working effectively with Management to meet departmental needs through class offerings. Position to cultivate Project Management, Computer Information Systems, Accounting skills, and Effective Communicating as necessary. Responsible for coordinating work between Xcel Energy and its Vendors, effectively adjust training schedules to accommodate and reflect customer needs, review student applications and documentation to ensure accuracy, perform record keeping duties, provide updated and accurate certification/completion status, and to be able to work with confidential information regarding students and test scores. This position will help alleviate pressures on current employees as well as prepare the individual with the tools to be a successful applicant for Xcel Energy training them on Xcel Energy's processes and procedures.
This is a long-term, paid position for up to 20 hours per week during academic periods and up to 40 hours per week during non-academic periods including summer and school breaks. Hours during academic periods can be flexible based on class schedule. This is a year-round, long term internship with intent to explore job opportunities after graduation (based on mutual interest and availability).
Minimum Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college
- Sophomore or above preferred
- Major or minor in Business, Business Management, supply chain or a related field
- Good organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Must be approachable, flexible, customer focused, self-motivated, results and team oriented
- Learns new tasks and develops skills quickly
Preferred Requirements
- Ability to stay on part-time during the school year if offered
- Sophomore level or above (as of Spring 2022) is preferred
