We’re growing our creative teams in our Detroit and Wilmington offices and are looking for a Jr. Copywriter. Remote location is also possible.

Our creative teams focus on crafting and developing immersive experiences for both B2B and consumer audiences. And right now, we’re looking to grow our copywriting and storytelling capabilities to help drive both our traditional and digital experience offering. As a Jr Copywriter, you’ll help deliver on our point of view on brand voice, tone, and manner in support of our clients' marketing needs.

The primary function of the Copywriter is to write and edit copy in many different media, including digital, print and video. Proficiency in all forms of interactive copywriting is essential, including web, e-mail and social media. Both business-to-business and consumer experience is preferred. Day-to-day projects will vary from eMarketing to advertising to POS to collateral and beyond. Will be expected to contribute independent ideas and concepts to projects, and develop subject matter expertise on client programs as well.

About you:

  • A strong interest in and basic understanding of brand experience, voice, tone, storytelling, UX, user flow and branding across multiple channels.
  • An ability to develop and present concepts, as well as discuss solutions with Creative Directors, clients, and internal teams.
  • Results-oriented, problem-solver with a passion for creativity from concept to execution.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

What you’ll do:

As part of the creative team, you’ll work collaboratively with Art Directors, Designers and CDs, to transform conceptual ideas into memorable branded experiences across a broad range of channels and media, including corporate identity, digital, social, email, video, display, promotion, advertising, print collateral, packaging, direct mail, and trade shows.

In addition to actively writing and concepting on select projects, you’ll be responsible for managing your timelines on a range of projects, ensuring timely delivery of creative ideas, content, and production.

You’ll also work iteratively with cross functional teams on initial concepts, user flows, voice, tone and messaging, and prototypes. And participate in all project phases, from strategy and launch to future-state optimization.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Beyond the above, you’ll be encouraged to help own the copywriting, brand voice and messaging of any given project, while participating in copywriting tasks such as:

  • Product/service research to aid in uncovering key why-buys and strategic storytelling.
  • Conducting interviews for various types of long-form content.
  • Script and storyboarding development.
  • Content outlines to help inform messaging.
  • Directing/producing voiceover talent.
  • Ability to help proofread when needed.

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience concepting, and writing, brand-oriented work across a wide variety of media and platforms.
  • Versatile writing skills ranging from short-form, long-form, headlines and more.
  • An ability to clearly articulate how you think and problem solve.
  • Office Suite proficiency including advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Helpful to have some familiarity with XD, Sketch and/or Figma.
  • A BA in Advertising, Journalism, Marketing, or related career experience.
  • Internship, student portfolio, or 1-2 years of agency or in-house experience.
