AECOM is seeking a Junior Civil / Structural Engineer to be based in Austin, TX.

_This position is expected to begin in January 2022._

Incumbent Responsibilities:
+ Perform engineering analyses and design under the direct supervision of experienced and licensed professional engineers

+ Provide engineering support for multi-discipline design projects from work scope development until the completion of construction

+ Support the preparation of construction cost estimates

+ Develop project technical documents such as calculations, technical specifications, and design drawings

+ Perform engineering tasks, CADD modeling, and CADD drawing development tasks

+ Evaluate applicable building code requirements and design code requirements

+ Visit project sites and record field observations and measurements required for project completion

+ Research, review, and interpret existing design drawings

+ Coordinate design activities with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)

+ Actively support construction activities by responding to questions from construction management staff and contractors and by personally witnessing construction during periodic short-term on-site construction support assignments

Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or architectural engineering

+ Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification required

+ Valid Driver’s License required

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience during college education via engineering cooperative education programs, engineering internships, or part-time engineering positions is preferred.

+ Basic knowledge of structural steel design and reinforced concrete design

+ Basic knowledge of design/building codes such as the AISC Manual of Steel Construction, ACI 318, International Building Code, and ASCE 7 (Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures).

+ Basic knowledge and experience with computer productivity software such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

+ Exposure to structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro and technical calculation software tools such as MathCAD

+ Basic knowledge and skill with 3D CADD software such as Autodesk AutoCAD.
