Myriad Genetics Rotational Scholars Intern
Myriad Genetics is proud to offer internships that create meaningful work experience for students seeking fast-paced real-world work environment. The rotational internship program is designed to expose undergraduate students to multiple facets of personalized medicine while simultaneously allowing students the opportunity to develop real world skills through meaningful project-based work.
Internships are full-time work (40 hours per week) and are in – person unless health regulations require remote work. Interns may be required to travel to other Myriad campuses at Myriad’s expense. This opportunity is exclusively for undergraduate candidates at North Carolina Central University.

As an Intern, you will:
Be responsible for the following general responsibilities:
- Assist with daily administrative duties
- Collaborate with other interns on multidisciplinary, long-term projects
- Designing a deliverable for each department involved in the rotational program in the form of a portfolio of work
Be responsible for supporting various department representatives with the following:
- HR: Analyze company policies for strengths and weaknesses
- Genetics:
- Learn industry and company standard genetic practices
- Contribute innovative ideas to genetic department
- Sales/Marketing: Assist in tradeshow coordination
- Quality / Compliance: Review existing company policies and procedures
- Finance: Develop economic policies based on skillset learned from mentors
Department projects and responsibilities are subject to change based on team availability at the time of internship start
Learning Objectives:
This internship is designed to provide exposure to the following learning objectives:
- Gain exposure to the variety of support areas in the healthcare space
- Learn about the differences between policies, procedures, and practices of different departments
- Gain first-hand experience in genetic testing and associated biomedical procedures
Success Measures:
- Attendance over 8-week timespan
- Completion and Quality of deliverable
- Quality of work: writing, attention to detail
Experience & Education Requirements
- This opportunity is exclusively for undergraduate candidates at North Carolina Central University.
- Should identify as a Black person, African American person, Indigenous person, and / or person of color
- Pursuing Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a STEM field or related area of study with preference given to those who have completed two full years of college education (rising juniors)
- Relevant experience or coursework in the following: basic and life sciences, mathematics, engineering, project management, healthcare administration
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, maintain excellent organization on all and prioritize effectively; attention to detail is critical
- Ability to learn concepts and tasks quickly and accurately, not hesitating to ask for assistance when needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to converse effectively and regularly with various levels of management
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a remote environment
- Computer Skills Required: Intermediate skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
