Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking a Procurement Specialist intern to join our Procurement team in 2022. This opportunity will allow an intern to gain an understanding of rural health and the health insurance industry.

This paid internship will be located at our corporate headquarters in Meridian, ID but, may have some opportunity for remote work as well.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university, preferably a junior or senior standing student
  • Analytical - ability to report, analyze and, make observations about data/processes
  • Organization - ability to multi-task and manage time with multiple priorities
  • Inquisitiveness - not afraid to ask questions or attempt to figure things out
  • Communications - verbal and written skills suitable to a business environment
  • Independence - can work under moderate supervision; is self-motivated
  • MS Office - proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word

You will learn:

  • Metrics - Review and understand the data; Support regular updates to metrics; Assist and implement metric improvements for Strategic and Operational Procurement
  • Master Data - Understand the Master Data environment; Support accuracy, timeliness, and updates as necessary for Procurement processes
  • SharePoint site - Update and archiving of old documents which will expose the Intern to all areas within Procurement
  • Support Procurement related transactions in Workday and CMApp business system supporting both Strategic and Operational procurement activities, including inventory management
