Cloud Application Services (CAS)
There are multiple teams under the CAS organization that are hiring. Please see the different positions listed below.

(1) OpsServices Team
As an intern in Cloud Application Development (CAS), you will dive into developing our premiere Mindsphere software. OpsServices make significant contributions towards the availability and stability of the Mindsphere platform. They are responsible for all the tooling that support the scrum teams’ development pipeline, as well as, provide production level support. You will partner with multiple teams within an agile scrum development environment, and have the opportunity to learn directly from senior engineers. You will assist on project teams related to:
  • Defining, planning, implementing, and operating processes that meet or exceed the service level agreement and CI/CD objectives.
  • Be part of maintaining a 24x7, global, highly available SaaS environment according to internal and external service level agreements.
  • Ensure the production environment is operating optimally and detect when they are not meeting their availability targets.
  • Deliver improvements to source code management, deployment, operations, maintenance, cost control, security, monitoring, and audit tools and processes.
  • Manage a service critical codebase with version control using Git including Gitlab, or GitHub.

Organization Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related Engineering field with prior coding experience
  • Familiarity with CICD automation scripting (Python or terraform)
  • Interest in Cloud Infrastructure automation and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of object oriented programming concepts
  • Previous cloud environment experience, including AWS or Azure, strongly preferred but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel PowerPoint)
  • Passionate, driven, and proactive

(2) MindSphere IoT Platform Team
As part of our MindSphere IoT Platform development group, you will accelerate development of platform as service. MindSphere is the open, cloud-based IoT operating system from Siemens that lets you connect your machines and physical infrastructure to the digital world. It lets you harness big data from billions of intelligent devices, enabling you to uncover transformational insights across your entire business. In this group you will help define new approaches and create fresh functionality. Your responsibility will be to engage in one of our innovative teams by:
  • Designing and developing micro service for MindSphere platform
  • Creating tools, utilities and script development for automation
  • Diving into requirements definition, in-depth analysis, and code implementation
  • Working in the Agile development methodology
  • Validating software quality through unit testing, writing automated tests, and bug fixing
Organization Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related Engineering field with prior coding experience
  • Strong coding skills in JAVA and strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
  • Commanding grasp of JSON, YAML
  • Have experience with, or able to learn Spring Framework, RESTful Web Service, jUnit/Mockito

(3) Advanced Analytics Team
As part of our group, you will accelerate development of platform as service. (4) Digital Commerce and Operations (DCO) Team - Development Intern
As part of the Siemens Digital Commerce and Operations (DCO) organization, this position contributes to the delivery of best-in-class ecommerce capabilities. This person will participate in agile-based scrum development processes to enhance the functionality of our Salesforce.com (SFDC) based eCommerce platform. During the course of this internship, the selected candidate will have hands on experience with the scrum development practices, the SFDC B2BCommerece platform, CICD tools (Copado, Bitbucket, etc.), and traditional programming languages such as Java. The primary purpose of the role is:
  • To work with the Digital Exchange (DEX) Team to identify, develop, and deliver the applications required to support our Siemens online stores.
  • To identify, support and implement B2B commerce applications and programs across the business that ensure consistent and reliable execution of our business processes while maximizing value to both our internal and external customers.
  • To continually improve the performance and productivity (cost of operation) of our business systems; maximize benefits of the system at the lowest achievable cost while delivering the required functionality.
  • To provide high quality code solutions that meet digital commerce and marketing client needs in the implementation, enhancement, and support phase of project-based technology implementations. You will have knowledge of the Salesforce platform and have experience developing as well as using the platform to perform configuration and data changes.
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the design, development and support of applications built on Salesforce utilizing the Salesforce Community and B2B Commerce Cloud for customer self-service and eCommerce.
  • Help build and develop web services using REST, SOAP and other Salesforce APIs to support various integration points with other systems
  • Develop, deploy and integrate Business Systems / Applications that will maximize the empowerment of users, knowledge workers, power users and functional teams with the ability to execute daily tasks with efficiency and speed with minimal reliance on IT professionals.
Organizational Requirements:
  • Working towards an Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Working level knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Practical implementation of programming skills to produce 1 or more applications
  • Experience working with and configuring software platforms such as Salesforce
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Experience integrating with cloud providers like AWS
  • Orientation towards working in a collaborative environment in support of the business needs
  • Understanding of business data management and modelling
  • Practical working knowledge of software documentation and testing

(5) Digital Commerce and Operations (DCO) Team - Operations Intern
As part of the Siemens Digital Commerce and Operations (DCO) organization, this position contributes to the delivery of best-in-class ecommerce capabilities. This person will work as part of our Operations team that ensures buyers and sellers have the best experience possible. During this internship, the selected candidate will have hands on experience with the Salesforce B2BCommerce platform, the Adyen Payment platform, seller and product onboarding, software purchase and provisioning, and SAP-based business processes. The primary purpose of the role is to:
  • Work with the Digital Exchange (DEX) Operations Team to onboard partner companies as approved, third-party sellers.
  • Work with the DEX Content Team to onboard products for sale in the Siemens DEX stores.
  • Monitor store purchases and help troubleshoot and resolve and issue.
  • Help analyze transaction in the SAP back-end system to ensure transaction continuity.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with partner sellers to ensure their onboarding information is correct and complete
  • Onboard partner sellers to the Adyen sub merchant platform.
  • Work with internal Siemens and partner sellers to ensure their product information is correct and complete
  • Onboard internal Siemens and partner sellers’ products to the DEX stores.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot purchases on the DEX stores
  • Access back-end SAP systems to ensure transaction completeness and consistency with DEX transaction information

Organizational Requirements:
  • Working towards an Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Working level knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Practical implementation of programming skills to produce 1 or more applications
