We are looking for an individual interested in insurance, claims and vendor management activities to join our Summer Intern Program based in Basking Ridge, NJ. Claims Vendor Management is responsible for facilitating and enabling business strategies through the identification, assessment, selection, appointment and oversight of third parties within Claims. You will work alongside experienced colleagues to enhance our ability to manage vendor risk with particular focus on improving the communication of best practices to internal stakeholders in addition to the delivery of actionable management insights (MI) through business intelligence (BI) reporting capabilities.

We have designed our Summer Intern Program to support the development of vocational skills and experiences that allow students to prepare effectively to enter the workforce full-time upon graduation. Focusing on providing structured exposure to a range of core business activities, participants in the Program benefit from a 10-12 week period of working alongside the Vendor Management team, internal risk domain partners and various lines of businesses to broaden their knowledge of managing risk within the insurance industry.

The Program will provide exposure to a range of Vendor Management activities and be anchored by projects in two primary areas:

Vendor Management Best Practices

Review existing internal communication materials and identify opportunities for improvement
Present recommendations to leadership and gain approval to implement suggested changes
Partner with internal teams to execute agreed enhancements and rollout changes to stakeholders
Provide proposed options for ongoing maintenance and management of best practice material

Vendor Management BI Reporting

Learn core reporting tools including Qlik Sense and Tymetrix T360
Document current processes and produce standard operating procedures for business users
Work alongside Vendor Management MI / BI lead to complete business reporting requests
Complete specific reporting projects as necessary to improve our ability to deliver reports effectively

Candidates should have relevant academic studies and prior experience in several areas is advantageous:

Major in business administration, analytics or supply chain management
Understanding of developing requirements for internet / intranet sites
Familiarity with collaboration tools including Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
Management reporting platforms and data visualization tools
Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Project and / or risk management

Interns are considered temporary hourly employees and are not eligible for benefits. Compensation rates are based on intern collegiate years:

Rising Sophomore: $16/hour
Rising Junior: $18/hour
Rising Senior: $20/hour
Recent Graduates: $22/hour

Position will be based in Whitehouse Station, NJ. However, there is a possibility of periods of remote working due to the status of the pandemic. Appropriate technology will be made available including a laptop for the period of the internship.

Interns are subject to a background check and drug screen (as are all temporary employees).

The intern Program starts in May / June and runs for a period of 10-12 week, ending in August / September.
