This experience will allow the intern to develop the skills necessary for job placement and advancement in the mortgage and financial services industries. The intern will spend time learning processes and procedures of the Accounting department by rotating between teams. The intern will integrate academic theories and principles with practical job experience and professional development, reinforcing and expanding classroom learning while preparing for postgraduate employment. **It is anticipated that the internship program this year will be primarily Remote/Work from Home. However, we hope to be able to have some opportunities for in-office and in-person activities as well. As such, candidates must be within commuting distance of ServiceLink's corporate headquarters in Moon Twp., PA and be willing/able to come in to the office as needed for program activities.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
In this role, you will…

  • Rotate through various teams in the Accounting department and learn certain key processes and procedures as well as inter-departmental interfaces (i.e. Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Shared Services, and Treasury)
  • Document and create an educational training guide covering a multitude of activities undertaken by the Accounting department
  • Gain a sense of understanding of how the front-end and back-end of the department operates

Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze operational data
  • Document various activities of the Accounting department and create an educational training guide
  • Participation in capstone project
  • Weekly meetings and projects to ensure completion of capstone project
  • Attendance of lunch and learns, leadership meet and greets, team building events, and other events of Internship Program
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Junior, Senior or Graduate Student; Accounting majors preferred
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must possess problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to keep information confidential
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team
