Opportunity:

In this internship role, you will assist with geophysical data collection tasks using geophysical and GPS equipment. You will be supporting remedial investigation or removal actions for Department of Defense projects, at formerly used defense sites, with potential unexploded ordnance contamination.

Under close supervision of a site geophysicist, the intern will assist with routine technical support assignments (site setup, geophysical and GPS equipment setup, quality control tests), assists with collection of geophysical survey data and with documentation of field activities. Internship assignments are designed to develop a working knowledge of geophysical data acquisition, policies, practices, and procedures related to field of study. This is a developmental position for college student who is pursuing a technical field of study. *Note: does not involve handling unexploded ordnance. The geophysical team will be escorted by unexploded ordnance technicians who are educated and experienced with identifying and handling ordnance. Location: Denver, CO.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Required:

  • Students currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in geophysics, geology, or related field.

  • Preferably sophomore, junior, or senior standing.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.

  • Will be required to obtain OSHA 40-hour Hazwopper training upon start (at company expense).

  • Extensive travel to field sites required - 100% travel

  • Field work involves performing physically demanding tasks and working 10-hour days (typically 4 10-hour days per week), potentially in adverse field conditions (cold, hot, high wind, dusty environment, rough terrain) in remote locations.
