Position Summary

This role is a temporary internship assignment during the summer of 2022 in the Instrumentation & Controls group part of the Project Management and Construction division. The tasks may include reviewing the following: P&ID’s, control function procedures, distributed control system (DCS) logic and graphics, one-line diagrams, solar control system design and more. The intern will gain exposure to how DCS logic and graphics are developed and deployed to new projects.

Basic/Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.

Desired Qualifications

• Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.

• Students classified as juniors or above.

• Previous work experience in a related field.

• Demonstrated effective leadership skills through on-campus, extracurricular/volunteer activities, etc.

• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately using written and verbal communications.

• Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Specific Requirements

• Ability to work full-time (Monday-Friday) for 12 weeks in the summer of 2022.

Working Conditions

• Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.
