Responsibilities

The Operational Excellence department at Universal Studios Hollywood focuses on ensuring a safe experience for Team Members and guests and smoothly operates the work environment.

The Operations intern will have the opportunity to assist the Operational Excellence team with special project-based assignments for Theme Park initiatives and programs.

This internship is a paid professional opportunity for students to gain additional work experience while adding value to our organization. The Summer 2022 internship will last approximately 12 weeks from June 6th - August 26th. Exact internship dates are subject to change based on the intern's availability. End dates may be revised based on business need, including extensions (but are not guaranteed).

The intern will be required to work on-site at Universal Studios Hollywood based in Universal City, CA. This is not a remote opportunity. The intern must be able to work Full-Time 40hrs/wk during normal business hours (Monday - Friday).

Qualifications/Requirements


  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree in Hospitality and/or Entertainment degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm degree progress
  • Current class standing of Sophomore or above (30 credits)
  • Must be able to work on-site at Universal City, CA
  • Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 8 days following commencement of employment
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or must undergo regular COVID-19 testing if Company determines your job position requires accessing the worksite
  • Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without a visa or sponsorship

Desired Characteristics


  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
  • Strong interest in Themed Entertainment
  • Completion of at least one previous internship experience, other relevant working experience, and/or previous work experience in an office environment preferred
  • Self-started, able to work independently, and move a project to completion
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across all levels
  • Strong leadership, organization, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 software/programs
