Summer 2022 Actuarial Research and Modeling Internship
The ACG Internship Program aims to provide a rich, relevant and rewarding experience for college students. This paid internship program allows college students to live the experience of working on a career path within ACG. The goal of the program is to provide interns the opportunity to connect, network, and grow as they work on department-specific projects and is designed to enhance the skills and abilities of young professionals as well as to identify and attract future talent for our organization. Interns will be mentored and coached by ACG leaders, and at the end of the program the interns will share feedback with ACG leadership about their experience.
Compensation
The Auto Club Group will provide compensation of $17.50/hour for 40 hours/week for 12 weeks.
Work Environment
Currently remote with the possibility of moving hybrid in the future.
Internship Responsibilities
- 1). Present the modeling results to Actuarial management.
- 2). Perform data pull from SAS folder and/or Google Cloud
- 3). Perform DataRobot modeling
- 4). Summarize findings in Excel/PPT
- 5). Documenting major steps in a project
- 6). Learn about either Python or R in own time.
Internship Requirements
Intern candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must have sophomore or junior status and must be fully enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college/university.
- Must be studying a related field - Actuarial Science/ Mathematics/Statistics (or other majors if combined with an Actuarial concentration).
- Must have strong analytical skills and be proficient in Excel.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to pull data from various data sources with accuracy.
- Must be able to perform sanity check and become familiar with personal lines insurance.
- Must be able to manipulate data into model ready format.
- Must be able to use modeling tools to analyze data.
- Must be able to summarize findings and document.
In addition, intern candidates will be required to complete an employment application and the interview process.
