3.8
Overview:
This summer our Internship Program will be a hybrid program. A hybrid program means interns will be expected to come into their designated office location about 3 times a week. All internships will be hybrid unless explicitly stated as a remote opportunity.

(This Hybrid opportunity is located in New York City).

Opportunities you could be considered for may include (but are not limited to):
Responsibilities:
National Ad Sales Intern: Bridging the world’s best brands and engaged audiences, Discovery’s Ad Sales department creates authentic connections. The Advertising Sales team monetizes our portfolio of 19 TV networks, digital, mobile and streaming properties. Our team is at the forefront of the revolution happening in the entertainment world and we pride ourselves on being the most agile and smartest Ad Sales team in the business.

Students will have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the entertainment and media industry. Learning from the global leader in real life entertainment, Discovery offers interns hands-on learning and resume enhancing experiences. Discovery fosters an environment of curiosity by providing robust opportunities such as mentorship, executive speaker sessions and networking events. The opportunity extends to motivated rising junior and seniors with an interest in a career in sales. Discovery intern mentors will expose candidates to negotiations, ad sales senior management, marketing and research. Through a series of projects, candidates will learn time management, teamwork and gain entertainment industry knowledge.

Ad Sales Intern - Engage: Advertising Sales is the key revenue stream for Discovery working with national advertisers and their agencies to sell commercial space on our networks. As part of the Ad Sales team, we have the privilege of working with an array of internal departments (Marketing, Programming, Ad Operations, Finance, etc.) as well as external partners.

Responsibilities:
As an ad sales intern, you will be involved with (but not limited to) creating presentations, analyzing ratings and monitoring performance indicators for sales campaigns, reporting on trends in the marketplace, and most importantly getting an in-depth view of how the advertising industry works. Ad Sales & Marketing ( US Hispanic ) Internship:
The US Hispanic Group offers the best of Discovery to a Hispanic audience in the USA. We are a small group, which I like to call Familia, who wear multiple hats to create the bigger picture for Discovery. We carry the best of all English programming and transcribe it for a Spanish-speaking audience here in the USA. US Hispanic also has original content targeted toward the audience that has the feel of Discovery, Food, or HGTV.

Responsibilities:
The intern at USH has exposure to learning the basics of a sales assistant. They will work with a planner on their accounts and learn account management. The intern also this summer will research and present to USH management on the Discovery Hispanic networks, digital, and the Hispanic market landscape in the USA. We will give feedback on their presentation as well. The intern will also be utilized by the Account Executives for any projects that are needed. We have also asked in the past for them to make a presentation of all program descriptions. If hiring we also allow the intern to view the process of hiring to see how others are interviewing and what makes a good candidate internally.
