A unique opportunity to see multiple aspects of studio marketing all within one department. The Studio Marketing Intern with a focus on Global Marketing Partnerships, Promotions Sales & Synergy, Product Placement/Creative and Special Events.

Studio Promotions is responsible for delivering global partnerships for all Walt Disney Studios films. The Sales Team creates a strategic plan for each title and pitches external brands across multiple categories including paid media with massive reach and creative excellence. Non-Broadcast Synergy delivers marketing events, stunts, activations and at all Disney Parks and Resorts, Disney Cruise Line, ShopDisney and Disney Stores, D23, Disney Music Group, DMI, and Disney Theatrical Group. Global Marketing Partnerships & Promotions Execution is responsible for managing each promotion campaign by overseeing and bringing to life all components of the promotional deal. The Product Placement and Creative aspects of Marketing Partnerships includes internal creative, production, and film integration agency for the partnerships team. Special Events is responsible for creating, producing, and executing all the Studio premieres, convention panels, and marketing stunts.

Responsibilities :
A day in the life with the Studio Marketing Team may include:
  • Ticketing and talent outreach for premiere events.
  • Ideating sponsorship activations for premieres.
  • Help acquire and install props and costumes for premieres and conventions.
  • Onsite execution for Special Events and Conventions (D23, Comic-con, Star Wars Celebration).
  • Read scripts to decipher product placement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales leads on strategies for promotional vision for studio titles.
  • Brainstorm incremental business opportunities, and pitches to new and existing promotional partners with the opportunity to co-pitch films.
  • Present key market research on latest trends.
  • Work with executives to develop promotion pitches for brands.
  • Will have an active role in contract reviews, digital brainstorms, creative reviews, approvals on programs and provide promotional program recaps.

Basic Qualifications :

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Eager to learn.
  • Knowledge of Social Media as a business application.
  • Brand Awareness within cross promotions.
  • Understanding of theatrical and streaming content.

Required Education :
  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program at a college/university taking at least one class in the semester prior to participation in the internship program, or recently graduated within 6 months at time of application.

Additional Information :
  • All candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • All candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program, or graduated with in the last 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship.
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.

Work Environment
  • This internship is both a remote and in-person internship in addition to the occasional local travel to offsite events and convention locations.
  • The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.
  • All candidates must be available from May/June through August 2022.
  • All candidates must be available to work 40 hours a week and after traditional office hours on select days and some weekends.
  • All candidates must be able to work in the Team Disney Burbank office and provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
