Responsibilities:
Responsibilities: We see ourselves as teachers and hopefully mentors to our interns. We know they are the future of the business and we focus on sharing as many professional experiences as possible over the course of a summer. Our interns attend all meetings-both with our specific team as well as the company. They are involved in all aspects of talent booking, casting, and management as they work to brainstorm and identify talent that aligns with the brands. They are asked to be resourceful in thinking about ideas that focus on their younger demographic. They often organize systems and projects as they relate to existing and new shows and on occasion have the opportunity to staff talent for press and marketing events if possible.
Talent Development and Casting Intern: The Talent Dev and Casting team has a very big role on discovery+ and the linear networks. The team works to cast celebrity talent worldwide in discovery+ original series and specials. They also serve as a liaison, connecting talent with discovery+ teams, including programming, marketing, development, communications and social good. The head of the department reports into COO, David Leavy. The team works closely with David's corporate events team for live events, tours, filming and premiers.
Being a summer intern is an incredible experience. The company has one of the biggest events of the year landing every summer, Shark Week! The talent team works closely with Discovery factual and internal/external talent that are involve in Shark Week as well as fans of the programming. We are a very inclusive team and take an "all hands on deck" approach to our workflow.
Qualifications:
This summer our Internship Program will be a hybrid program. A hybrid program means interns will be expected to come into their designated office location about 3 times a week. All internships will be hybrid unless explicitly stated as a remote opportunity.

Global Talent Management intern: Global Casting and Talent Management is a unique department that touches all aspects of creating and producing content for linear, streaming, social and digital platforms when it relates to talent. We act as a central hub and liaison for all scripted and unscripted talent on OWN. Additionally, we have the opportunity to cast A-level talent for programming, specials, initiatives, and company priorities across all Discovery networks. We are often an external-facing department interacting with Hollywood agents, managers, publicists, and production companies.

- Must be currently enrolled as a student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
- Must be a rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States

Our Summer 2022 program will run from Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 to Friday, August 19, 2022.
The application deadline for Summer 2022 is Friday, March, 4th. After this date, we cannot guarantee your application will be reviewed for the position.
Our internships are paid opportunities. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired.
