About this opportunity
Align Technology, Inc. (the makers of Invisalign® aligners) has software development intern positions available for students seeking a summer internship. This is a full-time position for a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer.
In this role, you will…
Work independently on one or more summer software projects and create a final presentation to share with the team. Activities may include:- Contributing C++, C#, Java and Python code to our dental CAD product
- Prototyping new algorithms for key software components
- Formulating and testing hypotheses
- Investigating research and root cause analysis
- Participating in multiple stages of software Product Life Cycle
- Develop expertise in native software and debug it in order to aid in Data processing related to software user behavior
- Participate in project update meetings and effectively present data and findings
- Follow all departmental and company procedures as indicated in quality, administrative, or other systems
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Assist with documentation and organization of various projects
In this role, you’ll need …
- To be a student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s (junior level or higher), Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a similar field.
- Experience with Python, C++, C#, or Java programming.
- Knowledge of STL, modern C++ (i.e., C++ 11 or above).
- Experience with Git or similar version control management software.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently.
- Eagerness to gain experience working in a production codebase.
It’s also a plus if you have one or more of the following:
- Experience with or interest in learning multithreaded programming.
- Exposure to 3D mathematics concepts including linear algebra, 3D vector geometry.
- Knowledge of Docker, AWS, and/or Linux development.
