Job Summary

Weber Shandwick is looking for a Jr. Designer to join our growing creative team. In this role, you'll conceive and design visual solutions for a variety of social platforms, presentations, integrated campaigns, PR materials and more. Our office is based in Detroit, but we're open to remote.

Responsibilities

  • Conceive, design and produce an array of visual assets including (but not limited to): paid and organic social posts, gifs, memes, stickers, infographics, presentations, motion graphics, templates, mood boards, press kits, ads and marketing materials
  • Develop and comp designs for a variety of social platforms, such as IG, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Reddit, etc.
  • Collaborate with art directors to establish the "look and feel" for various campaigns
  • Find creative ways to leverage, repurpose and resize existing product photography and assets
  • Help art directors and teammates comp their creative concepts
  • Present designs (and the rationale behind them) to teammates and clients
  • Incorporate feedback from Creative Directors, teammates, clients and legal department with precision and a positive attitude
  • Become an expert in brand standards
  • Pay meticulous attention to detail
  • Understanding of visual hierarchy and design principles
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and PowerPoint, as well as emerging digital and social design trends
  • Working knowledge of digital, UX and UI design principals a plus
  • Knowledge of AfterEffects, Sketch and HTML are a plus, but not mandatory
  • Animation skills a plus, but not mandatory

Qualifications

  • Up to 1 year of internship and/or work experience in a design-related role
  • Must have a portfolio (may include spec work, college work and unproduced concepts)
  • Passion for solving design and marketing-related challenges
  • Great sense of humor that translates into meme, gif and social campaigns
  • Strong desire to learn, grow and collaborate on projects from conception through production
  • Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment
  • Exceptional judgment when working with clients, teammates and production partners
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial and endlessly curious
  • Working knowledge of best practices on various social platforms
  • In tune with social trends and pop culture
  • Willingness to push creative boundaries
  • Able to prioritize and manage own time
  • Experience working on Automotive is a plus (but not mandatory)
