Position Description

Atlantic Union’s Diversity Summer Internship program is a professional development opportunity for local diverse students to gain practical work experience, helping students become better prepared to enter into the financial industry post-graduation. Students have the ability to build professional networks, and receive training and mentoring throughout the program.

Atlantic Union’s Corporate Security Program is designed to give college students an introduction into bank physical security standards and operations. It is our intent to give the Intern real assignments. Assignments that stretch the Intern, provide the Intern with valuable experience, and allow the Intern to contribute to the Corporate Security Department.

Position Accountabilities

The Intern is provided assignments that introduce risk assessment, security project management and security operations. The intern will also get the opportunity to:

  • Assist in organizing and tracking the allocation and installation of security equipment at branches and corporate centers.
  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of risk assessment processes.
  • Prepare, complete, and process necessary reports to include stats/metrics.
  • Produce, update and maintain security systems procedures, user guides and documentation.

Organizational Relationship

This position reports to the Corporate Security Officer

Position Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Position Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years’ old
  • Currently working on degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management or Business Administration.
  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university is required, and Students must be undergraduates entering their junior or senior year or currently pursuing a graduate level degree
  • Must be available to work a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday. Interns will work remotely at a workspace that meets Atlantic Union Bank standards. The Intern may be invited to work onsite on occasion.
  • Must submit a resume and cover letter highlighting accomplishments, professional and academic goals, and expectations of this internship position.
  • Submission of transcripts and two professional or academic references.
