Intern (Consumer and Business Banking -- Remote, VA or NC)
Position Description
Atlantic Union’s Diversity Summer Internship program is a professional development opportunity for local diverse students to gain practical work experience, helping students become better prepared to enter into the financial industry post-graduation. Students have the ability to build professional networks, and receive training and mentoring throughout the program.
Atlantic Union’s Consumer and Business Banking Intern Program is designed to give college students an introduction into retail banking strategies and tactics. The Intern will work with Consumer and Business Banking leaders in rotational assignments to assist with various projects related to process improvement and quality control.
Position Accountabilities
The Intern is provided assignments which span multiple areas within Consumer and Business Banking, working hands-on with leaders on projects designed to provide enjoyable learning opportunities for the Intern as they contribute to the organization’s success. Anticipated opportunities include:
- Assist with special project (Ivanti) for Customer Care Center
- Assist with quality control reviews related to the Customer Care Center for accuracy and data integrity to ensure risk is mitigated
- Develop collaborative relationships with Quality team and Leadership to assist with creating procedures
- Shadow a teammate using technical writing for policy and procedure creation
- Shadow a teammate and perform professional writing of internal communication
- Assist in documenting process maps to help identify efficiencies
- Shadow leaders in project meetings and learn from discussions on the purpose of the initiatives.
- Assist with project deliverables and related dashboard updates.

This position reports to the Quality Control Specialist
Position Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Position Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years’ old
- Currently working on degree in Business Administration or similar field of study.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university is required, and Students must be undergraduates entering their junior or senior year or currently pursuing a graduate level degree
- Must be available to work remotely in a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday. Interns will work remotely at a workspace that meets Atlantic Union Bank standards. The Intern may be invited to work onsite on occasion.
- Must submit a resume and cover letter highlighting accomplishments, professional and academic goals, and expectations of this internship position
- Submission of transcripts and two professional or academic references
