IT Help Desk Internship - Summer 2022 (Atlanta)
Moore Colson has an exciting part-time opportunity for a dynamic and self-motivated IT Help Desk Intern to join our team during the Summer from June - September 2022! We're looking for this individual to work for approximately 20-25 hours per week between the hours of 8:30am and 5:30pm!
Moore Colson is a premier, full-service certified public accounting (CPA) and consulting firm in Atlanta with 40 years of experience providing clients with an expansive range of services to help grow their business and achieve their goals.
The ideal candidate will be an active college student, at a junior or senior year level in an applicable major program (Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, etc.). The successful candidate will be relationship oriented, efficient, a strong communicator, and be willing to learn. In this role, you will provide day-to-day application, network, and end-user technical support for employees in our Atlanta office.
A Day in the Life
IT Help Desk Interns are responsible for (but not limited to):
- Providing direct day-to-day application, network, and end-user technical support for employees in our Atlanta office or those who are working remotely
- Responding to help desk tickets, emails, and instant message requests
- Following up with customers, providing feedback and seeing problems through to resolution
- Properly escalating unresolved queries to the next level of support
- Maintaining detailed case documentation to allow for collaborative troubleshooting and resolution
- Assisting in onboarding of new employees by configuring computers, phones, desks, and creating user accounts
- Assisting in inventory management, cleanup, and refreshing computers for existing employees
- Providing basic support of in house technologies (i.e. iPads, printers, copiers, audio/video systems, network connectivity etc.)
The goals of the internship will be to:
- Gain exposure to real world IT software, hardware, systems and processes
- Acquire hands on learning experience in the technology arena
- Learn how to work with different types of personalities
- Learn to work independently with little supervision

Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes:
- Basic troubleshooting skills of Windows 10, Server 2008/2012/2016, networks, printers, mobile devices, wireless networks, and be willing to learn
- Available to work 20-25 hours per week between 8:30am – 5:30pm office hours
- Excellent customer service, problem solving skills, and superior communication skills
- Working knowledge of help desk software, databases and remote control tools
- Good troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to effectively communicate technical advice to a non-technical audience
- Adept at working with different types of personalities and remaining calm under pressure
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to diagnose and resolve local and remote computing problems
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more is required
