Reporting to the Manager of Security and Privacy, under direct supervision of the Information Security Program Administration and Governance Manager and Information Security and Privacy (ISP) leadership, The Mass General Brigham Digital (MGBD) Intern will assist in a variety of departmental responsibilities such as answering customer inquiries in the ServiceNow Ticketing system, conducting preliminary research for risk assessments and supporting Mass General Brigham’s electronic governance, risk and compliance platform (ARCHER). Intern will review and edit information Security policies and develop training.
Dates of Internship: June 6, 2022 - August 12, 2022
Duration: 10 weeks
Location: Mostly remote with select days onsite at one of our Eastern MA locations
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Security Monitoring
- Analyzing events
- Logging analysis
- Working with MMSP
- Managing alerts from security products and supporting the ServiceNow Ticketing system to mitigate events
- Security Engineering
- Supporting updates and configuration changes for security products
- Work on Python scripts and API programming
- Creating SIM boards
- Work with IPS/IDS systems
- Assist in integration of security in Mass General Brigham environments
- Coordinate with application and department contacts to plan and prepare for changes, upgrades, and deployments
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- College sophomore, junior or senior, ideally with a concentration in Computer Science, Informatics, Cybersecurity, or other related fields
Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
- Strong written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to interact with people from all organizational levels
- Self-directed and capable of independent work
- Ability to be flexible, versatile, and adaptable in day-to-day activities conducted in a multi-site environment
- Detail oriented
- Willingness to work in the hospital
- Strong computer skills in a Microsoft environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of database management a plus
- Good project management skills and technical/information security background
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Strong knowledge of network and computer architecture
- CompTIA A+/ Network+/ Security+ are recommended certifications
