This summer our Internship Program will be a hybrid program. A hybrid program means interns will be expected to come into their designated office location about 3 times a week. All internships will be hybrid unless explicitly stated as a remote opportunity.

Responsibilities:
In the Multiplatform department, we explore the ever-evolving world of digital and social strategy for the Science, Discovery, and Animal Planet brands and networks. We not only handle promotion of shows and corporate tentpoles like Shark Week, but we also curate brand presence on platforms like TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and more. We create communities of from science-lovers to explorers and feed their curiosity with cutting-edge activations and campaigns. In the bigger picture, this then allows us to leverage these audiences and our proven content strategy when supporting network and DTC initiatives.

For the this internship, the candidate can expect to be an integral part of our buys summer months. They will take part in show and tentpole promotion from the macro level (strategic brainstorming, researching competitors) to micro (screening episodes to find strong moments to push across social platforms). They can expect to use their love and deep knowledge of social media to inform new and exciting ways we can use the platform and follow trends. Shark Week will be a massive priority and they can expect to be entrenched in that project as well. At the end of the semester, they will hopefully be able to see evidence of their participation in a project that is a part of the cultural zeitgeist.
Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled as a student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
  • Must be a rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States

  • We offer 12-week spring and summer opportunities

  • Our Summer 2022 program will run from Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 to Friday, August 19, 2022.

  • The application deadline for Summer 2022 is Friday, March, 4th. After this date, we cannot guarantee your application will be reviewed for the position.

  • Our internships are paid opportunities. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired.

  • We do not require a cover letter- please do not submit one. Instead, demonstrate your passion for the position through your resume and interviews.


Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A Discovery Intern team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
