Overview:
This summer our Internship Program will be a hybrid program. A hybrid program means interns will be expected to come into their designated office location about 3 times a week. All internships will be hybrid unless explicitly stated as a remote opportunity.

(This Hybrid opportunity is located in Los Angeles).

Opportunities you could be considered for may include (but are not limited to):
Responsibilities:

Discovery Channel Marketing Strategy Intern: Interning for the Marketing Strategy Department at Discovery Channel you will get a well-rounded experience not only working very closely with our creative team but also working with various departments (Research, Media Analytics, Press, Digital, Creative, Social, etc.) on a daily basis. What makes our department unique is our hands on approach from ideation to execution no matter if you are on the strategy or creative side, you will work together to create a successful campaign. Our team is fairly large and you will get to work with people with all different skills and learn from them. What makes me proud and excited to work for this department is working alongside such smart and talented individuals that bring the team up as a whole and the fact that everyone loves to collaborate with one another so you never feel like you are alone working on a project. Our department fits into Discovery’s bigger picture of “inclusivity”, meaning that you will feel at home, welcome and that no idea is a “bad idea”

An internship for this department will give you hands on experience and tools that could not only work for any media career but also any marketing career whether it be in media or not. Some tangible projects would be working closely with other strategists on pulling and analyzing research, crafting briefs and deliverables, entering promos into our system called "CAT", brainstorm sessions, working closely with our creative team to make sure promos/graphics are delivered on time and staying on top of the shows you are assigned to in order to evaluate performance and if we need to reassess our strategy or not. Some large projects that you will be involved with (indirectly and directly) would be Marketing for big priorities for the network such as Shark Week, Serengeti and D+. Some of the responsibilities you will be held accountable for is organization of our internal systems such as Google drive and our "MAP" where all our deliverables are laid out, communication with other departments, working directly with the research team to pull proxy information for targeting as well as series maintenance, briefs, deliverables, brainstorms.
